If the fork is equipped with a rubber dust cover to be mounted on the upper part of the leg, the stabilizer will be designed so that the rubber dust cover fits the upper part of the stabilizer. Before fitting the stabilizer, the rubber dust ring must be slid up onto the fork steerer tube: after fitting the stabilizer, slide the rubber dust ring down until it engages. If you have modern forks, where the powder is incorporated into the top of the fork leg, simply install the stabilizer.
