Racetech Gold Valve Cartridge Emulators: low-speed compression response provides better control, while high-speed compression absorbs bumps in a progressive manner. This provides the rider with better steering response and makes the bike more stable in corners, but at the same time much more comfortable. The emulator dampens the compression of the fork thanks to holes designed specifically for each motorcycle model: damping is controlled by the low-speed bleed holes in the valve piston. The oil inside the fork flows unrestricted between chambers. At lower speeds there is not enough pressure to open the main valve piston and all the oil passes through the low speed bleed hole in the emulator. At higher speeds, particularly when the wheel hits a bump or when landing from a jump, the forks need to move quickly: the opening pressure is adjustable through the valve spring preload. Changing the hardness of the valve spring controls the slope of the damping curve once the piston opens. The Racetech emulator does not change the rebound damping, so adjusting the rebound damping is done by changing the oil viscosity.
Features Racetech Gold Valve Cartridge Emulators:
NOTE! Once installed, making changes is relatively easy: remove the fork cap and main spring, use a long soldering rod bent at the end or a special pliers and lift the emulator off the fork tube. Adjust the valve spring preload and reinstall. This can be done on many bikes with the forks still installed.
